The results stated that: (1) Pedagogic competence has a direct positive effect on teacher performance, (2) Attitudes in the profession have a direct positive effect on teacher performance, (3) Motivation has a direct positive effect on Teacher Performance, (4) Pedagogic competence has a direct positive effect on motivation, (5) Attitudes in the profession have a direct positive effect on motivation. This research was carried out in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Office of the Ministry of Religion of Samarinda City involving 148 teachers as research samples. Determination of the research sample was done by using random sampling. The research data collection technique uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire using a Likert scale with 5 answer choices and using tests. Data analysis uses path analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study, pedagogic competence, attitudes to profession and motivation have a direct positive effect on the performance of Madarsah Ibtidaiyah teachers. Therefore, the research variables can be recommended for the sake of improving the performance of madrasah teachers in Samarinda or other areas at the same level or higher.

Abstract

The aims of this study are describing the topics conversed by the second semester students of the English education department of San Pedro University; analyzing what are students’ conversations for; analyzing how students converse with their friends; and analyzing what are students’ strengths and weaknesses in English conversations. To reach these objectives, this research was designed in a descriptive qualitative study. All the data were obtained through observation, documentation (recordings), and interview. The data was collected and analyzed through descriptive approach. And after analyzing the data on the basis of research questions dealing with English conversations among the students, the researcher finds that there are different topics that conversed by the students, and all those topics are very contextual with the real life of students; or in other words, the topics present what students’ lives are. The students did English conversations in order to develop their ability to speak English confidently and pronounce English words correctly; encourage them to use appropriate grammar and vocabulary in English speaking; help them to produce and organize their ideas logically; and develop their communication competence such as oral presentation and story-telling. There are several findings deal with how do students converse with their friends: they do their conversations with big motivation; they begin their conversations with good starting point; they present good turn taking in their conversations; they present good cultural act in their conversations; they conduct their conversations with low accuracy; they conduct their conversations with low fluency; they present cohesion and coherence in their conversations; and they end their conversations with good closing point. And in conducting English conversations, there are strengths and weaknesses. The strengths found in students’ conversations are: students have big motivation in doing English conversations, using very simple vocabularies in their conversations; conversations run spontaneously and naturally; more reactive or responsive in doing conversations; creating good use of conjunctions and determiners; and giving good extended answers to the questions appeared in conversations. While the weaknesses found in students’ conversations are: students are still poor in vocabulary, still weak in using proper grammar, pronunciations and intonations are not so good affected by local language so much.

Abstract

Current technological developments produce various kinds of innovations and creations in all things, which goal to facilitate all human activities. There are various kinds of tools for testing, ranging from tensile testing, compressive testing and hardness testing. In this case, this research designs and develops miniature tensile test kits. Our goal is to do tensile testing to find out the yield strength, elongation, tensile strength and elastic modulus. This tensile test equipment is designed using a servo motor with 3 AC inputs, 105 V, 0.7 A with 100 watt output and 3000 rad / min motor rotation comparable (477.46 rpm), power transfer using fan belt. This servo motor is controlled by a servo amplifier that goal is to send a signal to control the motor speed, motor rotation direction. The servo amplifier is then connected to a laptop / computer to regulate the amplifier, and describes the test results in the form of stress and strain graphs that occur in tensile test specimens. The component components of the tensile test equipment analyzed in this study are; specimen pin, grip and grip holder). The goal is to determine the maximum stress that occurs so it can be categorized as safe or not used for testing aluminium (Al) and Copper (Cu) specimens. To find out the component is safe or not with the help of the Solid works 2014 software. By analyzing the maximum von Mises stress that occurs in each component analyzed for use in aluminium (Al) and Copper (Cu) specimens.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of training effectiveness, workplace culture, and innovation on the effectiveness of the work of surveyors. This study uses a quantitative approach using a survey method. Path analysis was used to analyze the data collected. The unit of analysis of this research is the surveyor on Sucofindo PT (Persero) Branch Batam. The number of samples taken in this study, 104 randomly selected people. The results showed that the effectiveness of the surveyor was directly influenced by training effectiveness, workplace culture, and innovation. The study also found that innovation is influenced by training effectiveness and work culture. Based on these findings it can be concluded that any changes are made to the effectiveness of the surveyor is influenced by training effectiveness, workplace culture, and innovation. Therefore, the effectiveness of the surveyor, training effectiveness, workplace culture, and innovation can be taken into consideration in strategic planning for the development of the human resources of a company.
